label International Engagement

label Data information

  •  Currently there are three datasets:
  •  Each record has three file formats: htm, pdf, and docx. You can open the htm files much faster than the PDF and docx files on a slow internet connection. You can access these files though the popup information window in the interactive map or via our shared folder below.

label Register your data

  • The iMap is constantly being updated, and reflects many of the international initiatives being undertaken by the University of Saskatchewan community. Additional projects are welcome and can be registered by emailing us the completed template files:
  • International Research and Development (RD) projects: RD.docx.
  • Student Exchange: SE.docx.
  • Letter of Intent (LOI) and Memorandums of Understanding (MOU): LM.docx.

label Connect to our shared folder

  • The U of S VPN is required for off-campus devices.
  • Go to the Start Menu, and select "Run".
  • Type in the string "\\webgis".
  • Select the iMap share folder and you will see all of our data in docx, pdf, and htm formats.

label Mapping a network drive to our shared folder

  • When you create a shortcut to a shared folder on a network (also called mapping a network drive), you can get to it from Computer or Windows Explorer without having to look for it or type its network address each time.
  • The U of S VPN is required for off-campus devices.
  • Open a Windows Explorer window by clicking the Start button, and then clicking Computer.
  • Click Map network drive. If you can't open the Map network drive, you might not have the correct permissions on your computer and contact your administrator.
  • In the Drive list, click a drive letter.
  • In the Folder box, typing “\\webgis\iMap”, or click Browse to find iMap folder. How?
  • Click Finish. Your computer is now connected, or mapped, to the network drive.

label What about the next version?

  • The iMap is constantly being improved. We will improve the popup information window in next version.
  • Any comments, criticism, ideas, and feedback are more than welcome.
  • Please contact Winston Zeng at The Spatial Initiative.
